- Why is my bank's EMI a little different?
- Banks may round the EMI to the rupee, start interest from the disbursal date or add insurance to the loan. Ganito uses the standard reducing-balance formula; the difference is usually a few rupees.
- How does Ganito split CGST and SGST?
- Within a state, GST is charged as CGST and SGST at half the rate each; between states, as IGST at the full rate. Each component is rounded to the paisa, as on a tax invoice.
- Which income-tax year does it use?
- FY 2025-26 by default (the return people are filing now), and FY 2026-27, whose rates Budget 2026-27 left unchanged. Pick the year in the tool or in Settings. Capital gains and other special-rate income are not covered.
- My bigha is a different size.
- Bigha and biswa differ by state and even by district. Ganito uses the common value for each state and says so next to every result; check your local land record before a sale or registration.
- How fresh are the currency rates?
- They are the European Central Bank's reference rates, published on working days around 16:00 CET. The app downloads them when you open it (at most every 6 hours) and always shows the date. Gulf currencies come from their official dollar pegs; the Kuwaiti dinar is not covered, so use "Your own rate".
- How do I edit the tape?
- Tap a line: it loads into the calculator; change it and press "=". Every line after it recalculates. Touch and hold a line to label, copy or delete it.
- How do I add the widgets?
- iPhone: touch and hold the home screen, tap +, search for Ganito. Lock screen: tap the clock area while customising. Control Center: open it, tap +, add Ganito. Android: touch and hold the home screen, choose Widgets, find Ganito, or add the Calculator tile to Quick Settings.
- What can I ask Siri?
- "GST with Ganito", "18% GST with Ganito", "EMI with Ganito", "Convert currency with Ganito" and "Add GST to the last result in Ganito". Siri asks for the numbers and answers aloud.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Everything except updating currency rates works without the internet.
- How do I delete my data?
- Settings → Erase all data, or delete the app. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
